In the intense atmosphere of the IPL 2024 Auctions at Dubai's Coca Cola Arena, the bidding war for Australian batter Travis Head unfolded as Sunrisers Hyderabad emerged victorious, securing his services for a staggering Rs 6.8 crore—well beyond his base price of Rs 2 crore.

The bidding war saw the Chennai Super Kings lose out as Sunrisers Hyderabad clinched the deal. Head's remarkable performance in the past year undoubtedly contributed to the fervor around his acquisition.

Meanwhile, the auction witnessed other notable trades, including West Indies batter Rovman Powell moving from Delhi Capitals to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 7.4 crore, marking a substantial 164 per cent increase from his previous price.

The dynamics of the auction also saw shifts like English batsman Harry Brook being traded from Sunrisers Hyderabad to Delhi Capitals at a reduced price of Rs 4 crore, a 70 per cent decrease from his last valuation at Rs 13.25 crore. As the auction progresses, teams strategically shape their squads for the upcoming season.
