In a significant development, England's T20I captain Jos Buttler has been sold to Gujarat Titans in the ongoing IPL 2025 mega auction. The swashbuckling keeper-batter was one of the marquee players and went under the hammer as the fourth player on the first day of the bidding process. 

Jos Buttler has been a legendary figure in the Indian Premier League. He has represented Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals in the tournament; however, a significant number of his IPL outings have come for the Royals camp. He formed RR's formidable top-order with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson. However, the franchise decided against retaining him, as he entered the auction table as one of the most sought-after names.

As soon as the auctioneer announced his name, Rajasthan Royals began the proceedings with an opening bid of 2 Crores. They were involved in an intense bidding war with Gujarat Titans before Punjab Kings and Lucknow SuperGiants joined them. However, Gujarat Titans had the last laugh, with the talismanic batter joining them for a whopping amount of 15.75 Crores. 

Jos Buttler's IPL Career And Stats

Hailed for his scintillating stroke-play, Buttler began his IPL career with Mumbai Indians. He was even a part of MI's IPL winning squad in 2017 before joining the Royals the next year. He enjoyed stellar success for RR, amassing 3055 runs at a marvellous average of 41.85 and a blistering strike rate of 147.80.
