The Indian Premier League (IPL) continues to set new viewership benchmarks with each season. In the ongoing IPL 2024 itself, the official television broadcaster of the prestigious T20 event has raked in a cumulative reach of nearly 50 crore viewers and over 24,500 crore minutes worth of total watch time, thus marking a significant growth in comparison to the 2023 season.

Mumbai Indians’ home game against defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 14 turned out to be one of the biggest draws of the season, considering the match garnered a staggering haul of 6.3 crores concurrent viewers at one stage of the proceedings.

According to a data unveiled by BARC, IPL’s official broadcasters Disney Star has achieved a cumulative reach of 47.5 crores views this IPL 2024 season.

The data further states that the viewership stands at an astounding 24,500 crore minutes worth of watch time at the halfway stage of the season itself.

Moreover, MS Dhoni’s sizzling cameo at Wankhede Stadium during CSK’s away IPL 2024 fixture against Mumbai Indians alone fetched more than 6.3 crore concurrent viewers on television. The match, which CSK comfortably won by 20 runs, overall attracted more than 17 crores viewers in its entirety.

The IPL 2024 season recently headed into its second half, with Rajasthan Royals maintaining their top spot on the 10-team points table. The matches continue to attract near-capacity crowds at all IPL venues, regardless of the opponents or the stakes on offer.

The ongoing season will continue in the final week of May with the playoffs and its subsequent title clash on May 26.
