Perennial arch-rivals Virat Kohli and Pat Cummins shared a delightful conversation with each other prior to their IPL 2024 faceoff at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

The two cricketers, who had a blockbuster showdown at the 2023 World Cup final last November, also went up against each other in a high-scoring IPL thriller in Bengaluru earlier this month.

Virat Kohli’s heart-warming reunion with Pat Cummins

During a pre-match training session in Hyderabad, SRH captain Pat Cummins went up to RCB opener and active ‘Orange Cap’ holder Virat Kohli for a light-hearted conversation.

Cummins initiated their interaction by bragging about his recently-concluded batting drill, to which Kohli responded by saying: “You’re too good, Pat.”

Virat Kohli and Pat Cummins share a rich and an extensive rivalry, especially in international cricket. Back during the final of the 2023 World Cup, it was the Australian quick who stunned a near-capacity Ahmedabad crowd by cleaning up well-set Kohli for 54. Under the leadership of Cummins, Australia ended up winning the contest to lift its sixth World Cup title.

Both cricketers also faced each other in a high-scoring IPL 2024 thriller in Bengaluru on April 15. Once again, it was Cummins who came up trumps by leading the ‘Orange Army’ to a 25-run win.

As of now, the SRH franchise is placed at number three on the IPL 2024 points table with five wins from seven fixtures. The RCB group, on the other hand, is languishing at the bottom of the 10-team ladder and is currently on a six-game losing streak.
