As ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 scripted history with a successful landing on the Moon's south pole and becoming the first country to do so, a wave of nationalistic emotion swept across India, touching the hearts of its cricketers competing on Irish shores.

Team India paused their prep to commend Chandrayaan-3's stellar achievement.

India's successful lunar landing on its third attempt came days after a Russian probe, Luna-25, met with misfortune in the same region. With this achievement, India joined an elite club consisting of the United States, Russia, and China, marking a monumental step in space exploration.

While ISRO's war room radiated joy and relief at precisely 6.04 PM, a parallel exhilaration enveloped the Indian team in Dublin.

Amidst their final T20I preparations against Ireland, the cricketers found a moment of unity as they watched in amazement at India's stellar space achievement. The sight of players united in awe was beautifully captured and shared by the BCCI which resonated with millions back home.

Chandrayaan-3's journey began on July 14, atop an LVM 3 heavy-lift launch vehicle, and entered lunar orbit on August 5. The lander, named 'Vikram' in honour of the pioneer of India's space program, Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, has set the stage for the Pragyan Rover.

Over the next 14 days, equivalent to one lunar day, Pragyan will relay invaluable data and images from the lunar surface.

Meanwhile, several cricketers also took to social media to sum up the collective sentiment of a billion-strong nation as they posted congratulatory messages and expressed their pride at India’s monumental feat.
