The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has reportedly unveiled the venues of the next four editions of the men’s Asia Cup. On October 5, the council also sent out invitations for the media rights of the ACC 2024-2031 cycle.

As reported by Cricbuzz, the ACC has set a base price of USD 170 million for the media rights that would encompass global television, digital, and audio rights of each of the six ACC tournaments, namely Men’s Asia Cup, Women’s Asia Cup, Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup, Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup, Women’s Under-19 Asia Cup, and Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup.

India to host 2025 T20 Asia Cup?

As per reports, India is set to host the next edition of the Men’s Asia Cup in 2025, thus marking a return of the tournament to the country after 35 years. India previously hosted a men’s Asia Cup back in late-1990.

While the 2025 Asia Cup will be played in a T20I format, Bangladesh will host the ODI version in 2027. Pakistan will host a T20 Asia Cup in 2029 and Sri Lanka will organize an ODI tournament in 2031.

Back in 2023, Pakistan co-hosted the ODI Asia Cup with Sri Lanka by following a hybrid model after the BCCI had expressed its security concerns for the Indian cricket team. Team India ended up winning the competition in a one-sided finale held in Colombo.

Additionally, the report indicates that the ACC has set a staggering sum of USD 170 million as the base price for the media rights of the 2024-2031 cycle. As per the Invitation To Tender (ITT), the aforementioned period would witness four men’s Asia Cup editions and three women’s Asia Cup tournaments. While the auction is scheduled to be held on November 1, interested parties will be required to submit their bids in Dubai by late-October itself.
