India crushed Sri Lanka by 10 wickets on Sunday (September 17) at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, making a mockery of the final of the Asia Cup 2023.

Mohammed Siraj was the architect of the result, returning excellent figures of 7-1-21-6 as he single-handedly tore Sri Lankan batters apart before they eventually folded for a humiliating 50 in 15.2 overs. Hardik Pandya gave the support Siraj required, claiming 3/3 in 2.2 overs, while Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Kusal Perera to draw the first blood.

Considering their was little work to be done in the chase, Rohit Sharma asked Ishan Kishan to open the innings alongside Shubman Gill. The pair did not disappoint, as they reached the target in just 6.1 overs without any damage.

In a contest that lasted only 21.3 overs, Mohammed Siraj's over, in which he claimed up to four wickets, was the game's biggest highlight.

Pathum Nissanka, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka, and Dhananjaya de Silva being dismissed in the span of six balls was nothing short of spectacular to witness as the right-arm quick had a day to remember.

Coming to chase, Kishan and Gill did not have any trouble at all to get the job done. The duo smashed nine fours combined to handsomely win their eighth Asia Cup title.
