The Asia Cup 2023 might have been lone over, but the issues between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) continue.

On Tuesday, the PCB and ACC entered a deadlock over the former demanding additional compensation for organising special flights between Pakistan and Sri Lanka for teams.

The Asia Cup 2023 was co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka under the approved hybrid model after BCCI refused to tour its northern neighbours.

As stated by PTI, a close PCB source explained that the PCB is seeking shares from ticketing and sponsorship fees as well, apart from hosting fees, which is around $ 250,000, excluding the additional compensations.

The source further states that the ACC is unwilling to pay additional expenses since the hybrid model was presented by the PCB.

Here's what PCB source said

"The additional money is for expenses incurred on renting chartered flights for teams between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and other extra expenses like additional hotel and transport fees, which were not included in the initial budget for the Asia Cup."

A Sri Lanka-based company 'Classic Travel' were paid $ 281,000 for arranging four chartered flights to and fro between Pakistan and the Emerald Island, which PCB was not comfortable paying.

The report also suggests that PCB were inclined to sell vacant seats on flights to recover the cost.  Currently, Zaka Ashraf heads PCB, and the ACC is chaired by Jay Shah.
