SKY opens up on moments leading to infamous T20 World Cup final catch
Suryakumar Yadav revealed that taking a clean catch was never his intention when he first saw the ball from afar. But when he got closer, he thought of making the play and then throwing the ball back in, thus saving a couple of crucial runs.
“When I ran, I noticed that the ball was quite far away. Then I saw Rohit bhai, he was at the other side standing in long on. Then I thought I should run, catch the ball and throw it back in."
"Even if it was three or four runs, we would have a chance of winning. When the ball got closer, there was a chance to catch it and throw it back in. When I caught it after throwing it back inside, it was a great feeling,” Suryakumar Yadav said.
However, the play turned out to be sensational because not only did Yadav manage to juggle the ball over the boundary but also take a clean catch, leading to Miller's much-needed dismissal.
