India To Clash World Champions Before WC; BCCI Reveals Schedule for 2023-24 Home Season

The stage is set for an exciting 2023-24 home season for Indian cricket, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a number of high-octane encounters comprising 16 international matches (5 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 8 T20Is).

India’s schedule for the upcoming home season was revealed by the BCCI's Tours, Fixtures and Technical Committee - featuring Amitabh Vijayvargiya, Jayendra Sahgal, and Hari Narayan Pujari - following the BCCI's carefully drafted venue rotation policy.

Indian fans are in for a treat with the season's opener, an exciting three-match ODI series against Australia, slated for September. The series is set to stoke excitement in the lead-up to the grand spectacle of the World Cup 2023. Mohali, Indore, and Rajkot will host the three matches on September 22, 24, and 27.


The cricket fever will continue post World Cup 2023 with a high-voltage five-match T20 International (T20I) series against Australia. The series will span across five different cities, beginning in Vizag on November 23, followed by Trivandrum (November 26), Guwahati (November 28), and Nagpur (December 1). The series will reach its ascension in Hyderabad on December 3.

As the world greets 2024, India will welcome Afghanistan for a historic three-match T20I series, marking Afghanistan's first-ever white-ball bilateral tour of India. The India vs Afghanistan T20Is will be held in Mohali on January 11, Indore on January 14, and the final game in Bengaluru on January 17.

Finally, fans will also get to experience the ultimate thrill of Test cricket when England tours India for a fascinating five-match Test series. The India vs England 2024 Test series will commence in Hyderabad on January 25, moving to Vizag on February 2, Rajkot on February 15, and Ranchi on February 23, before culminating amidst the beauty of Dharamsala on March 7.
