Jasprit Bumrah has been out of action for nearly a year, with his last appearance coming against the Australians through a home game back in September 2022. The cricketer sustained a back injury around the same time, which ruled him out of the subsequent T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

Bumrah also missed the entirety of this year’s IPL, and his injury-prone absence continues to haunt Team India and Mumbai Indians.

While the speedster is speculated to make a comeback sometime this year, he was recently seen gracing the nets for a full-throttle bowling session.

Bumrah returns to nets ahead of a gruelling cricketing season

Jasprit Bumrah underwent a back surgery earlier this year. The 29-year-old is currently undergoing a rehabilitation program at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

As per reports, he might well make a comeback into the Indian team sooner rather than later. Amidst all speculations behind his return, he was recently seen bowling full-throttle at the nets without any discomfort.

Bumrah, while not a part of team’s current travelling party to West Indies, might well be selected for India’s tour of Ireland in August. As of now, he is bowling nearly 8 to 10 overs in a day to fuel his recovery course.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will likely take a call over his selection in the coming days by assessing his progress. A white-ball series in Ireland will serve him in good stead ahead of the all-important Asia Cup 2023 and World Cup 2023 later this year.
