David Warner continues to steal the hearts of cricket lovers in India with his warmth and dignified approach in the aftermath of Australia's tremendous ICC World Cup 2023 final victory over Men in Blue in Ahmedabad.

Recognising it was a teary-eyed moment for his huge fanbase on Indian shores, the experienced Aussie opener, who was one of the heroes of his team's ultimately successful ascent to the world champions tag, has been consoling his heartbroken fans and followers based here via social media.

In one such interaction, Warner was seen sending a consolation message to one of the saner Indian fans as he told the Australian giant with a heavy heart that the Pat Cummins-led side deserved to be crowned champions for the sixth time in cricket history.

In response, Warner reminded the hurting Indian fan that Rohit Sharma & company played "unbelievable" cricket during an excellent campaign that saw them hammer all nine oppositions during the league phase and suppress historic nemesis New Zealand in the semifinal played in Mumbai.

"It's ok, India played unbelievable through the whole tournament. That's the game unfortunately, was an unbelievable tournament though," Warner quoted in an Indian fan's comment box.

Not only did the Indians dominate the run-chart but also emerged as match-winners in the bowling department. The Men in Blue had all to show for their great efforts but the trophy, which is why the defeat continues to sting the Indian fans hard as they were considered massive favourites to upstage the Aussies and clinch a third World Cup title.

The Australians, who played rather unconvincing cricket throughout the league stage before peaking at the business end of the tournament, realise this more than most and have had Warner leading the consoling messages to his humongous fanbase in India.

Warner enjoys a great fan following on Indian shores and retains his strong place in the hearts of cricket lovers based here due to his extravagant style of play and longstanding association with the Indian Premier League (IPL) apart from India-centric content on social media reels and dance clips posted along with his family.
