The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 might have gotten over on November 19, but for Indian players and fans, the hurt remains.

An in-form Team India led by Rohit Sharma met with a crushing blow against Australia, who, in the final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, silenced the crowd and snatched the World Cup title underneath the hosts' nose, who had attained a ten-match winning streak heading into the all-important knock.

India folded for merely 240, with wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul top scoring with 66, as Australia chased down the target with relative ease courtesy of Travis Head's scintillating 137, helping Pat Cummins and Co. win a record-extending sixth WC title.

While other Indian players expressed their heartbreak on social media platforms the next day, Rahul today shared his thoughts about the final, sharing a heartbroken emoji with "still hurts" written alongside it.

Rahul's post included three pictures as well, captioned "still hurts... 💔"

Rahul, who slammed 66 runs in the final, overall amassed 452 runs in 11 matches, which included one hundred and two fifties.

The player has faced flak for his knock in the final, which somewhat stopped the flow of runs as the batter played out 49 dot balls during his 107-ball stay in the middle.

Meanwhile, Rahul has been rested from India's five-match T20Is against Australia, which get underway this evening at Visakhapatnam.
