The ongoing row over Asia Cup 2025 has taken a dramatic turn as recent reports suggest that the ACC is planning to place India and Pakistan in the same group for the continental tournament.

India-Pakistan To Be Placed In Same Group

According to the report from India Today, the BCCI has agreed to host the prestigious Asian tournament at a neutral venue, with the UAE being the front-runners.

Notably, the apex cricket board of India, which were reluctant to join the ACC AGM in Dhaka, joined the event virtually. Further, the report added that BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla and ACC head Mohsin Naqvi are set to hold a meeting together soon.

Asia Cup Schedule To Be Out Soon

Earlier, there were reports that the Asia Cup is all set to commence from September 8 to September 28. The event will host eight teams: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, Mohsin Naqvi also remarked that the schedule for the Asia Cup 2025 is set to be released soon.

"Talks are ongoing with the BCCI, and everything will be resolved soon. The Asia Cup schedule will be announced soon," remarked Mohsin Naqvi.

Uncertainty Over India-Pakistan Match?

Despite the latest developments, there is no update on whether India will lock horns against Pakistan or not. Notably, after the recent Pahalgam attack, India cut off every diplomatic ties with the neighbouring country, including a ban on their artists and songs.

The two nations also entered a war-like situation, thus keeping India and Pakistan in the same group is set to invite chaos. Recently, India Champions also faced the wrath for their match against Pakistan Champions, and eventually, the fixture was called off as individual players too had pulled out of the match because of Pakistan stars' anti-India stance.
