The Indian cricket team has been a subject to numerous injuries in the past year, it has resulted in the absence of numerous key player such as Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul for a significant part of the season. Additionally, an accident involving Rishabh Pant left a void in the wicketkeeping position. The most significant blow was the injury sustained by ace bowler Jasprit Bumrah.

However, according to a report from the Indian Express, there is a high likelihood of Jasprit Bumrah returning to the Indian cricket team for the upcoming three-match T20I series in Ireland, set to take place in August. The report also indicates that Bumrah is currently bowling around 8-10 overs per day and is fully committed and putting in his best effort during practice sessions.

Following this report, Jasprit Bumrah just shared on his Instagram a series of pictures in a video and added the song 'I'm Coming Home' in the background hinting a much awaited return.

Here's the video:

Bumrah's most recent outing for the Indian team was in a T20I series against Australia in September 2022. However, he has been out of action since then due to a back injury. In March, Bumrah had to undergo back surgery and is presently undergoing the recovery process at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

The fast bowler, who last participated in a Test match for the Indian cricket team against England in July of the previous year, is likely to be fully recovered for the upcoming World Cup in 2023. Although India emerged victorious in the first test against West Indies, the bowling coach Paras Mhambrey admitted that the team's bowling lineup feels the absence of Bumrah.

Will 2023 finally be the year that Bumrah returns for good?
