According to the latest reports, the UAE-based International League T20 League (ILT20) have reportedly offered top 15 Australian players, a AUD 700,000 contract, to abandon their Big Bash League (BBL) commitments.

The inaugural edition of the ILT20 is set to take place in January next year, which will also coincide with the BBL 12.

The top bracket salary in the BBL 12 will be AUD 340,000, which is significantly less than its rival league, and is thereby causing trouble to Cricket Australia (CA).

Cricket Australia under pressure

"As many as 15 Australian players have been offered contracts worth up to AUD 700,000 a year to abandon the Big Bash League and play in the UAE Twenty20 tournament in January," said a report on The Sydney Morning Herald.

"UAE contract sizes so far above and beyond what has been on offer in the BBL have placed Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers Association under pressure to reassure players that they are not being left behind the rest of the world by remaining loyal to the game in this country," the report added.

Cricket Australia trying to establish trust with players

Todd Greenberg, CEO of Australian Cricket Association has revealed that there have been countless calls from the players, about the offers made by the franchises of ILT20. However, he thinks it all comes down to establishing trust with your players.

Furthermore, Greenberg has reckoned that CA is trying hard to present the best offers to its players, including David Warner.

In the end,  the 51-year-old hopes the players will take a mature decision, with a genuine sense of care for the game.
