Elite ICC umpires Kumar Dharmasena and Marais Erasmus officiated in the final of the 2019 World Cup in England. The two are set to return to their official duties at the 2023 World Cup, alongside third umpire from the match, Rod Tucker.

Nitin Menon is the sole Indian in ICC’s list of umpires for the tournament, which features as many as four English umpires. Here is a list of ICC’s 16-umpire panel for the World Cup 2023 in India:

Meanwhile, the four match referees selected by the ICC are all former international stars, namely:

Upon announcing the match officials for the premier ODI event, ICC Senior Manager Sean Easey expressed his confidence, saying that the elected group will do an excellent job. He said:

“We are confident that they will do an excellent job and wish them all the best of luck for what will surely be a World Cup to remember.”

The ICC World Cup 2023 will commence with a match between 2019 finalists England and New Zealand on October 5. The match will be played out at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
