Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal added a touch of humor to a social media post celebrating Marnus Labuschagne as the potential "first concussion substitute legend" in cricket following Labuschagne's impressive batting performance against South Africa.

Labuschagne, who initially wasn't part of Australia's playing eleven, played a crucial role in their unexpected victory in the first match of the five-game series.

Here's what he replied

Labuschagne entered the game as a concussion substitute for Cameron Green, who had taken a blow to the head from a Kagiso Rabada bouncer. Seizing the opportunity, Labuschagne showcased his batting prowess to the Australian selectors, aiming to secure a spot in the upcoming World Cup.

Australia found themselves in dire straits at 72 for 5 when Labuschagne stepped onto the field. Later, they were struggling at 113 for 7. However, Labuschagne, along with Ashton Agar, formed an unbroken partnership of 112 runs for the eighth wicket, ultimately leading Australia to a thrilling three-wicket victory. Labuschagne contributed an impressive 80 runs off 93 balls, while Agar added 48 runs to help Australia take the series lead.

Labuschagne's performance as a concussion substitute earned him widespread acclaim, with many considering him a cricketing legend in this unique role.

Nevertheless, Yuzvendra Chahal injected a dose of good-natured competition into the conversation. Chahal shared a humorous GIF of himself laughing while lying on the field. This gesture seemed to be a playful reference to Chahal's own exceptional performance as a concussion substitute during a T20 match against Australia in 2020.

Chahal replaced Ravindra Jadeja in the playing eleven after Jadeja suffered a helmet blow from a Mitchell Starc delivery while batting in the final over. Chahal went on to capture three wickets for just 25 runs off his four overs, earning him the Man of the Match title as India clinched a thrilling 11-run victory.
