ICC has revealed list of match-officials for group stage of Champions Trophy 2025 (Source:@Nomancricket29/X.com)
The Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to kickstart on 19th of February with Pakistan taking on New Zealand in the series opener. The excitement around the event is increasing with each passing game, and one of the most anticipated clash without doubt would be the one between India and Pakistan on 23 of February.
The game will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium and the ICC has now finalised the match officials for the game. The on-field umpires for the game will be Paul Reiffel and Richard Illingworth. Paul Reiffel is as Australian umpire who got into the Elite Panel Of ICC umpires in 2013 and has featured in various high-profile games.
Richard Illingworth is an Englishman and was also an umpire in the 2023 World Cup final which India lost. So, both have truckloads of experience and will be accompained by TV umpire Michael Gough. The fourth umpire will be Adrian Holdstock while the match referee will be former Australian cricketer David Boon.
Richard Kettleborough To Feature In Opening Game Of Champions Trophy 2025
The ICC has revealed match officials for all the group stages games along with the India-Pakistan one. The first game of the tournament between Pakistan and New Zealand will be umpired by Richard Kettleborough and Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid.
The Champions Trophy is returning after the gap of eight years and Pakistan are the reigning champions. They will host most of the games of the tournament, barring all India games. If India qualify for the final, it will be played in Dubai, but if they don't then newly renovated Gaddafi Stadium will host the finale.
