In a significant development, Lucknow Super Giants have been handed a major boost as their star seamer Avesh Khan has been cleared by the NCA to participate in the IPL. It is worth noting that the Giants were handed massive blows before the start of IPL as three of their seamers were ruled out of the first match because of injuries.
Avesh Khan Cleared By NCA
Notably, Avesh, Mayank Yadav, and Mohsin Khan were unavailable for the LSG game against DC. Mayank is suffering from a back injury, while Mohsin was ruled out and replaced by Shardul Thakur. Talking about Avesh Khan, he will now be available to participate in the upcoming games for LSG.
The report by Sportstak mentioned that while Avesh has been cleared by the NCA, it is unclear whether he will get match time right away or not. Notably, LSG's next match is against SRH on March 27 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
Notably, LSG suffered a one-wicket defeat against DC in their opening match of the tournament. They lacked seamers and were forced to play more spinners. Further, Prince Yadav stepped in but failed to create an impact.
Update On Mayank Yadav
Talking about Mayank Yadav, then he is on his road to recovery. Further, LSG coach Justin Langer remarked that Yadav has sustained a toe injury, that pushed his rehabilitation a week or two ago.
"He got an infection in his toe. It's put his rehab back about a week or two weeks. But he's up and running. We regularly see videos of him bowling. I saw a video of his yesterday. So, hopefully by the back end of the tournament, Mayank will be up and ready to go for us."
Meanwhile, Yadav is expected to be back by Mid-April and in case, he fails to do so, then LSG would look for a replacement.
