Hemang Badani Returns As DC Coach To Conquer CSK
Former Chennai Super Kings player and Indian cricketer, Hemang Badani, who was with the side back in 2010, but did not get to feature in a single game, is now the head coach at Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025.
The left-handed batter, who used to bat in the middle order, is leading his side successfully in this year's extravaganza, with his team starting off on a high with three wins in three games.
In the recently concluded game between DC and CSK, the visitors defeated the home side by a comfortable margin of 25 runs at the iconic M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, also known as Chepauk.
Batting first, Delhi posted 183 on the board on the back of KL Rahul’s 77 off 51 deliveries, while CSK largely failed, with Vijay Shankar scoring 69 not out off 54 deliveries, whereas Dhoni's 30 not out couldn't save them from an embarrassing defeat, as they could only manage 158 on the board after the end of the 20 overs.
With this defeat, Delhi Capitals have now gotten past their losing streak at Chepauk, where they hadn't won any games in the last 15 years.
The last time Delhi Capitals defeated Super Kings at Chepauk was back in 2010, when DC’s head coach, Hemang Badani was still an active player, but didn’t feature in the game.
In 2010, the match that took place in Chennai saw CSK struggling badly against the spinners of DC, formerly known as Delhi Daredevils, as they could only manage 112 on the board on a turning Chennai track.
In reply, Delhi Daredevils chased the score down in 18.4 overs with skipper Gautam Gambhir scoring 57 not out off 56 deliveries, as they won the game by six wickets.
