He Plays For KKR and Not GT - Fans Accuse Gill Of Favouring IPL Teammate Over Harshit Rana

India will face Zimbabwe in the 2nd T20I on Sunday, July 7 at the Harare Sports Club. The Men in Blue suffered a shocking defeat in the first match and the fans speculated several changes to be made going into the 2nd match.

However, for the 2nd match, Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to bat first. India made just one change as Sai Sudharsan came in for Khaleel Ahmed. It will be Sudharsan's first game for India in the shortest format of the match. 

The team selection did not go well with the fans as they questioned the logic behind the chase, as India are left with just three proper bowlers for this game. On top of it, the viewers slammed the management for leaving Harshit Rana on the bench. 

Notably, Harshit was added to the squad for the first two T20Is only and is likely to return to India without making his debut. He had a phenomenal season with KKR which is why he earned his India call-up. 

The fans even accused Gill  and the Indian management of favouring his GT teammate Sai Sudharsan over Harshit. Here are some of the fans' reactions to Rana's omission. 







Notably, Rana took 19 wickets in IPL 2024 and his contribution helped KKR lift an IPL trophy after 10 years.  At the time of writing this article, the match is underway and India are 22/1 after 3 overs.
