He has been awesome: Pennington lauds Mohammad Hasnain

Star Worcestershire seamer Dillon Pennington has lavished praise on his teammate Mohammad Hasnain for his skills and dedication.

Pennington, who derailed Derbyshire’s innings by picking a spectacular four-fer yesterday, said that Hasnain has been fully devoted to the side, toiling hard in the nets since joining the team.

“Hasnain has been awesome for the week he has been here, training hard and practicing, and been really excited to get going, so it was nice for him to get the reward with the last couple of wickets,” Pennington said.

Pennington stressed that Hasnain’s signing has strengthened Worcestershire’s bowling arsenal as the Pakistani spearhead can bowl at a sheer pace.

Elaborating on the matter, the Shropshire-born said that Hasnain’s pace has ensured variation in the team’s bowling attack, making them look like a formidable unit.

“It is good to have him as part of the attack. You can maintain things a little bit and then just let him do what he does best, and that’s bowling pretty quick,” Pennington said.

“It is exciting for us as a pack that we’ve got that difference now, someone bowling at express pace, and it helps us look a lot better,” he added.

Pennington, who has been associated with Worcestershire since 2018, further admitted to sharing a great bond with Hasnain and expected the Pakistani pacer to bowl match-winning spells for his side in the upcoming games.

“He has been really good around the group. I’m getting on well with him. He is a funny guy; he is also very good and going to be really useful for us leading into the last four games,” the 23-year-old concluded.
