Tom Rogers joins Melbourne Renegades ahead of BBL 12

Melbourne Renegades have signed fast bowler Tom Rogers for the next two editions of the Big Bash League (BBL).

Ahead of the BBL|12, the Melbourne-based team on Tuesday confirmed the signing of the ex-Hobart Hurricanes pacer.

The pacer enjoyed the most prolific season of his BBL career last year. He ended the tournament as the joint fourth highest wicket-taker with 20 wickets to his name.

In his BBL career, Rogers has previously represented the Hurricanes and Sydney Sixers. He is looking forward to forging the next chapter of his Big bash journey as a Renegade.

Rogers looking forward to his new spell with the Gades

“I’m excited for the opportunity to come across to Melbourne and to play a role for the Gades,” said Tom Rogers.

“Hopefully I can continue to play a similar role to what I did last year in the Big Bash and help support some talented younger players on the list.

“I also want to continue learning and improving – I’ve heard great things about ‘Sakes’ and his coaching and I’ve played a fair bit of cricket against guys like Kane Richardson, Shaun Marsh, and Aaron Finch, so I’m keen to now share a dressing room with them and see how they go about it."

“Tom (Rogers) is certainly one of those players and we’re excited to welcome him to the Renegades," said James Rosengarten, Melbourne Renegades General Manager.
