Ashton Agar keen on playing in the Border-Gavaskar Tests against India

Australian spinner Ashton Agar missed out on playing the Sri Lankan Tests due to a side strain. The cricketer has now expressed his wish to play a Test match in India and added that he loves watching Test cricket in the subcontinent.

While speaking to cricket.com.au, Agar said:

“I'd love to play a Test match over in India, I love watching cricket over there. The games are over quickly but that's really exciting and it just looks like a hell of a time to bowl.

“Ever since I was a kid, I've watched I reckon every Test series they've had over there because I've looked up to a lot of their players so to play one of them would be huge,” he added.

The Australian team is slated to tour India for the Border-Gavaskar series between February and March next year. The matches will also form a part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship. The matches will also mark the final set of Tests for both sides before the Championship final.

Agar has been selected for Australia’s home ODI series against Zimbabwe in late August. The series will serve as a testing ground for both sides ahead of the T20 World Cup ‘Down Under’.
