The first Test at Headingley is done and dusted and now India have a chance to regroup as the second Test commences on July 2 at the iconic Edgbaston, Birmingham. The visitors are trailing 0-1 in the series and will be aiming to win the next Test but the job won't be an easy affair as the Asian Giants have never won a single match at this venue.

Ahead of the clash, Team India sweated out in the nets as they prepared for the upcoming English challenge. The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, and Shubman Gill all participated in the net practice but interestingly a familiar face was spotted in the practice session.

India to include another spinner in the squad?

In a video posted by journalist, Sandipan Banerjee, Punjab spinner, Harpreet Brar was spotted in India's training session as the spinner was spotted bowling in the nets to the Indian batters. He looked solid as the Indian team batted with precision.

Hence, the question arises, will Harpreet Brar be included in the Test squad vs England, the answer is no. He came in as a net bowler and helped the team to tackle spin bowlers. India already has Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja in the side and in English conditions, there is no need for a fourth spinner.

However, if someone gets injured midway through the tour, there is a chance that Brar could be picked in as a spinner in the team.

Spinners' record at Edgbaston, and should India play extra spinner

In the last 10 matches at this venue, pacers have dominated the proceedings, picking up 230 wickets as compared tp 59 by spinners. That is almost 80% of the wickets in 10 Tests. The trend is likely to continue as the surface could assist the pacers, especially with England bolstering the team with the inclusion of Jofra Archer.

There is Ravindra Jadeja in the playing XI and even if India want to add another spinner, they have Kuldeep Yadav in the bench and also Washington Sundar.
