Harmanpreet Enters Top 10; Smriti Mandhana Fails To Benefit After Century In Latest ICC Ranking

On Tuesday, November 5, ICC updated their weekly ranking charts, and the Indian women's team benefitted heavily as they won the three-match ODI series. 

Notably, India beat New Zealand in a series decider match on October 29 and clinched the series 2-1. Talking about the rankings, Harmanpreet Kaur jumped three spots and entered the top 10 as she now sits in the ninth position. Kaur had amassed 83 runs in two innings, which included a fifty in the series-decider match. 

Harmanpreet Kaur And Smriti Mandhana Benefit Heavily After Heroics Vs NZ

Talking about Mandhana, she did not jump any spots and remain in fourth place in the standings despite smashing a century in the 3rd ODI vs New Zealand. Nonetheless, Mandhana has closed the gap between her and third-place Chamari Athapaththu. 

Notably, Mandhana moved from 703 to 728 ranking points, inches behind Athatpaththu's 733, with Laura Wolvaardt (756) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (760).

Deepti Sharma Inches Closer To No.1 Spot

In the bowling department, Deepti Sharma, who took six wickets in three innings against New Zealand, bettered her stand at the No.2 spot in the rankings. Notably, at present, Sharma has 703 rating points, while, Sophie Ecclestone remains well clear in the top spot (770). Priya Mishra meanwhile entered the top 100 thanks to figures of 2/41.

Renuka Singh too achieved her career-best rating points as she jumped four spots to now sit in the 32nd position with 424 rating points. 

It is worth noting that India's Soima Thakor and Priya Mishra too made massive jump as Thakor jumped 20 spots to 80th position, while, Mishra jumped 77 places and now ranks on 83rd position.
