Gulf Giants adds Chris Lynn, Shimron Hetmyer and more for ILT20 2023

Gulf Giants have announced the addition of star Australian batter Chris Lynn into their line-up for the inaugural International League T20 (ILT20) season. The franchise, owned by Adani Sportsline, made the announcement on Wednesday, August 17 across their social media handles.

The franchise also signed up the likes of Shimron Hetmyer, Chris Jordan, David Wiese, Ollie Pope and Qais Ahmed. Additionally, former Zimbabwe captain and batting legend Andy Flower has been appointed as the head coach of the side.

Upon the announcement, Flower stated his excitement in being part of the franchise and added that ILT20 has big plans to become a major franchise tournament. He said:

“It’s exciting to be a part of any of the big franchise tournaments, and the ILT20 has big plans to be a major franchise tournament. As leaders, our job is to serve the players as best we can, and this principle is very important to me.”

The Giants are now the third ILT20 franchise to reveal their roster of overseas players after MI Emirates and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.

Shimron Hetmyer (West Indies), Chris Jordan (West Indies), Chris Lynn (Australia), Tom Banton (England), Dominic Drakes (West Indies), David Weise (Namibia), Jamie Overton (England), Richard Gleeson (England), Rehan Ahmed (England), Wayne Madsen (Italy), Liam Dawson (England), Ollie Pope (England), James Vince (England) and Qais Ahmed (Afghanistan).
