Apart from Russell Domingo, Bangladesh’ fast bowling coach and fellow South African Allan Donald will also soon be joining the Shakib Al Hasan-led side.

Spin bowling coach Rangana Herath, analyst Srinivas Chadrasekaran and team trainer Nick Lee are also slated to make their returns to the team. Meanwhile, fielding coach Shane McDermott and batting consultant Jamie Siddons are already in Bangladesh.

Under the leadership of Tamim Iqbal and Nurul Hasan, the Bangladesh team recently lost the ODI and T20I series in Zimbabwe. The upcoming Asia Cup 2022 will see the return of Shakib Al Hasan as team captain and the tournament itself will serve as a testing ground for the team ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia this year.

Bangladesh will open their Asia Cup 2022 campaign with a match against Afghanistan on August 30 in Sharjah. Earlier this month, the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced a 17-player squad for the Asian T20 event.
