KL Rahul has finally made a comeback to the Indian team for the Zimbabwe Tour after struggling with injury and Covid concerns in the recent few months. Rahul's last competitive fixture was the eliminator fixture of the IPL 2022.

Although he was not named in the original squad for the Zimbabwe series but was drafted after attaining full fitness. Furthermore, the 30-year-old has also replaced Shikhar Dhawan as a leader for the three-match ODI series beginning on Thursday (18 August).

Ahead of the first fixture of the series, Rahul spoke about his comparison with Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni as a leader of the Indian team. The opening batter reckoned he is still young and the assignment in Zimbabwe will only be his second stint as a captain.

"I do not compare. The names [Rohit, Dhoni] you have taken, I cannot even compare myself with these guys as leader. Their numbers and achievement are far greater. What they have done for the country, I do not think anyone should be put in the same bracket as them. You should not be comparing anybody, I am still young and this is my second series as captain," said Rahul in a press conference. "
