During a press conference with a few former Pakistani cricketers, Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul and Abdul Razzaq, one incident occurred where the latter commented on the Indian actress and global icon Aishwarya Rai, which has sparked controversy among the netizens. Umar Gul accepts and tries to clear his name from the same incident.

Abdul Razzaq, one of the well-known cricketers from Pakistan, took the name of Aishwarya Rai to describe a situation that was upsetting not only for Indian fans but also for Pakistani fans of the famous actress.

When he was asked about grooming and polishing the Pakistan team and players, Razzaq made an absurd reference to linking himself to marrying Aishwarya Rai and giving birth to a well-groomed child.

Although that was a sarcastic comment, taking the name of a global icon was not right, so people were all over him condemning the incident.

During the same incident, Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi clapped, also gaining people's attention. And now, Umar Gul has posted a comment replying to a journalist who shared his views on the incident.

Here's the comment that Umar Gul posted

Gul accepts that the comments made by Abdul Razzaq were ethically and morally wrong but also tries to plead innocence by saying that it was a sarcastic comment. Even Shahid Afridi later accepted that Abdul Razzaq was wrong and should not have said that. He also said he would text him to apologise to everyone for the same incident.

"I saw the clip when I went home and realized that Abdul Razzaq made a wrong statement. I knew he had a mike in his hand and will say something. He has a habit of getting beaten by shoes. I will just text him to apologize for what he said as it was wrong,” Afridi stated.
