In a surprising turn of events, Hardik Pandya, who was set to join his former franchise Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans, is set to keep captaining the IPL 2022 champions ahead of the upcoming edition. The star all-rounder was reportedly ready to reunite with the five-time champions, but that seemed not to be the case, as confirmed by the host broadcaster, Star.

There were multiple reports that Hardik would reunite with Rohit Sharma & Co. in an all-cash deal for INR 15 crore. In fact, he was projected as the next captain for the Mumbai-based franchise, given that he has already won an IPL title as captain and is getting a long rope as India’s T20I captain.

It is important to mention that Hardik can still join Mumbai Indians in the future. However, to make that happen, it cannot be an all-cash deal, and MI must swap players to get his services at least seven days prior to the auction, which will take place in Dubai on December 19.

After getting Hardik news coming from reputed sources, there were multiple reports about who should succeed him at the Titans camp. All the reports and rumours are getting doomed, as Hardik has stunned everyone, and will continue to lead them in the upcoming season.
