GT vs LSG | Wriddhiman Saha Smashes Fifty in 20 Balls; GT Hammer 78 in the Powerplay

Wriddhiman Saha has been around in Indian cricketing circles for a long time now. However, he has always been highly underrated despite doing well at all levels of cricket. In the IPL too, he has scored a century in past and is now playing a role of Powerplay enforcer for GT. In the ongoing game against LSG, he has now smashed his 12th fifty in IPL smashing LSG bowlers all over the park right from the word go. He got to his fifty in just 20 balls and GT overall managed to score 78 runs in the Powerplay - their highest Powerplay total in the Powerplay.

At the time of writing, GT are 78 for 0 in 6 overs with Saha batting on  54 off 23 balls and Gill, on the other hand, is batting on 22 off 13 balls.

The toss was won by LSG skipper, Krunal Pandya, and he decided to bowl first, but things are not going LSG’s way so far, and they would be hoping that the middle overs bring some respite. Mohsin Khan, who was bowling in the IPL after a long injury layoff, failed to impress as he was smashed for 34 runs in his two overs.

The stage is set now for GT’s powerful middle order to explode, and let’s see how things unfold in this crucial 51st game of IPL 2023.
