'We Want Someone at Number 3...' Faf Du Plessis after RCB's Humiliating Defeat against DC

RCB is a hugely popular team in the IPL despite now winning a single IPL title till now and whenever they lose a game there is a huge buzz in the cricketing circles. In the 50th game of  IPL 2023, RCB were handed a humiliating defeat by the spirited DC unit. DC won by 7 wickets with 20 balls to spare and Faf du Plessis, the RCB skipper had some strong words to say after his team's big loss.

Faf du Plessis said that they had a score that was very close to a good score. He felt that dew in the second half helped DC and also credited the way DC batters batted. He also added that DC got off to a strong start in the Powerplay and that put their spinners under pressure in the middle overs.

"I felt it was pretty close. We walked away with a total of 180+ and at the halfway mark it was close. There was a bit of dew and we have to give credit to their batters. But they got off to a strong start and the base was set. With the dew settling in, our bowlers weren't in control of the proceedings. Their batters put our spinners under pressure,"

The RCB skipper also added that the foundation was laid for Maxwell to bat at number 3. He was also happy with the way Lomror batted and said that it was a big positive for them. However, Faf accepted that number 3 position has been a problem for them and they need someone to score runs at that position.

"We gave a good foundation for Maxi to come at three. But very pleased to see Lomror the way he played. Good talent and finally, he showed what he has got. Very positive from him. We want someone at number 3 to score runs and that will be icing on the cake."

RCB will now play their next game against MI on 9th of May at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
