Phil Salt is a dangerous batter and he showed all his range against RCB in the 50th game of IPL 2023 as he smashed 87 off just 45 balls. His performance took DC to a big win over RCB and he was also awarded 'Player of the Match' award for his breathtaking knock.

Talking after the game, Salt said that they spoke before the game about being positive and taking the game on. He added that his strength is to keep going when he gets off to a good start. He also mentioned that DC batters knew they could slow down in the middle overs as the pitch was quite slow and low.

"We spoke before the game about being positive and take them on. We saw how good they were in Bangalore when they had their tails up.The real strength of mine is when I get going I don't really look to take my foot off the pedal too often. We knew the wicket was quite slow and low and we knew that realistically we would slow down in the middle,''

He also reckoned that RCB got to a par score and he knew that they had to bat well and they did that. He also credited Marsh for the way he batted and said that he hit his second ball for the six and that put bowlers on the back foot straightaway. Salt also applauded fans for supporting DC and added that there were few RCB fans in the stadium for this game but he is loving the support DC is getting at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

"I thought it was par. I thought we would have to bat really well to get there but the boys came out swinging and played really well.Marsh came in and hit the second ball for six or something like that and it puts the bowlers on the backfoot. He's a top player.Loving the support especially here in Delhi. A few RCB fans in tonight but really loved the support in Delhi."

DC will now play their next game against CSK at Chepauk on 10th of May.
