The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is just around the corner, and excitement is at an all-time high. Players have started joining their teams, gearing up for an intense season. In the Mumbai Indians (MI) camp, one of the biggest highlights was the arrival of former New Zealand star bowler Trent Boult.
Hardik Pandya And Trent Boult Share A Heartwarming Reunion
A viral video captured a special moment when MI captain Hardik Pandya unexpectedly bumped into Boult at the gym. Hardik, who was with his son Agastya, looked pleasantly surprised to see his former teammate. The two shared a warm hug and exchanged smiles, making it a sweet reunion.
Trent Boult played a key role in Mumbai Indians’ IPL 2020 title win in the UAE. Back then, he was one of the top performers, finishing as the third-highest wicket-taker with 25 wickets in 15 matches at an impressive average of 18.28. He even won the Player of the Match award in the final, where he picked up 3 wickets for 30 runs in his 4 overs.
Ahead of IPL 2025, Rajasthan Royals decided not to retain Boult, giving Mumbai Indians the chance to bring him back into their squad. The five-time champions made a bold move in the auction, securing him for a hefty ₹12.50 crore.
MI Will Aim For A Comeback
Mumbai Indians had a disappointing season last year, finishing at the bottom of the points table. However, they have retained their core team and made some strong additions for the upcoming season. Along with Boult, they have brought in Deepak Chahar and Will Jacks to strengthen their squad.
With Hardik Pandya leading the team and some big names back in the mix, MI will be aiming for a strong comeback in IPL 2025.
