Glenn Maxwell, the mighty all-rounder of the mighty Australian side, wreaked havoc during his recent India tour. He scored 400 runs in the recently concluded ODI World Cup while maintaining a strike rate of 150.4, eventually guiding the Aussies to a sixth title victory.

Besides scripting records with the bat, Maxwell lived up to his all-rounder tag by scalping six wickets. Shortly after wrapping up the CWC campaign, the switch hitter faced India in a T20 bilateral series.

Glenn Maxwell carried forward the momentum as he slammed a magnificent 104* runs off 46 deliveries in third T20 to keep Australia alive in the five-game T20 series. Needless to say, the all-rounder is in the midst of a dream run where everything is falling into place for him.

Glenn Maxwell To Fly Back Home

However, Glenn Maxwell's tiresome tour of India is finally coming to an end. The grueling international schedule took a toll on his body as the all-rounder decided to pull the plug on the ongoing T20 series.

As per the latest media reports, Maxwell is set to fly back home to Australia shortly and will skip the remaining two T20 games against India.

While we await further details, fatigue is the likely cause behind Maxwell's alleged move. To those unversed, the Aussie suffered from severe cramps during a World Cup game against Afghanistan.

Moreover, the weather in India has been extremely challenging for the switch hitter to adapt to. All these aspects collectively could have encouraged Maxwell to leave his side mid-way through the series.

Nonetheless, Australia is equipped with backup options and wouldn't mind Glenn Maxwell's absence. On the other hand, it's a blessing in disguise for the Indian side, considering how Maxwell outclassed them during the third T20.

Aussies won't be the same without Glenn Maxwell, and the Indian team led by Suryakumar Yadav must take full advantage of the same in the remaining half of the T20 series.
