Gautam Gambhir to lead India Capitals in LLC 2022

Former India opener Gautam Gambhir will mark his return to cricketing action in the ongoing second edition of the Legends League Cricket.

The second season of Legends League Cricket got off to a great start on September 16 (Friday), with a special charity match between India Maharajas and World Giants on the occasion of India’s 75th year of Independence.

However, the real action of LLC 2022 begins from Saturday, September 17th, with four teams India Capitals, Manipal Tigers, Bhilwara Kings, and Gujarat Giants taking part in it.

Gambhir, who retired from all forms of cricket back in 2018, is also set to return to on-field action as he will be captaining the GMR Group-owned India Capitals.

Gambhir reveals his emotions ahead of LLC debut

Speaking to India Capitals ahead of the first match against Gujarat Giants, Gambhir reflected on his emotions about getting back to cricket.

"I'm pretty nervous. In fact, I am probably way more nervous than I was when I made my international debut because I have not played cricket for a very long time," Gambhir told India Capitals. But it’s exciting because you’ve done that for a very long time. It's always nice to come back,"

Gambhir excited about the challenges that lies ahead

"It is exciting. But at the same time, it’s been a bit challenging as well because captaincy will always be challenging for someone like me who expects a lot of myself and the other players as well,"
