Team India has arrived in Perth, Australia, for their upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia. As usual, star batter Virat Kohli grabbed most of the attention. Fans gathered in huge numbers to see him train and hopefully get an autograph or a selfie.

However, a picture went viral on social media showing Kohli signing what looked like a Pakistan jersey. This led to confusion and debate among fans online, with many wondering if the image was real or fake.

Did Virat Kohli give autograph on Pakistan jersey?

Virat Kohli did not sign a Pakistan jersey. In fact, according to reports, a Pakistan fan met Kohli in Australia and asked him to autograph his India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) jerseys. However, the viral photo circulating online was either taken out of context or misrepresented. Therefore, the claim that Kohli signed a Pakistan jersey is false.

Meanwhile, Kohli is all set to return to international cricket after a seven-month break. Even during India’s practice sessions ahead of the first ODI. One young supporter was even spotted running around joyfully after getting Kohli’s autograph.

During training, Kohli looked focused and in great touch. He practiced catching and spent about 40 minutes in the nets facing bowlers like Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and local Australian bowlers. The session took place at the same ground where Kohli scored his last Test century about a year ago.

Notably, Kohli has always performed exceptionally well in Australia, scoring 1,327 runs in 29 innings at an average of over 51, including five centuries and six half-centuries.

Joining him in Perth were Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill (the new ODI captain), KL Rahul, and other key players. Head coach Gautam Gambhir and the rest of the support staff arrived later in the day.

This ODI series is special as it marks the return of both Rohit and Kohli since India’s Champions Trophy win against New Zealand.
