Explained: Why Only Selected India Players Have Undergone Fitness Tests At BCCI's CoE

On August 30 and 31, the BCCI conducted fitness Tests at their Centre of Excellence In Bengaluru. Top cricketers, including the likes of Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Jitesh Sharma and Shubman Gill. 

Virat Kohli, who is currently training in London, is expected to soon travel to India to give the fitness Test.  Mohammad Siraj, Jitesh Sharma, Washington Sundar, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shardul Thakur were also present to give the fitness test, where they underwent the Yo-Yo Test, the Bronco Test and also a bone Test to look at their strengths. 

Despite a lot of players undergoing Tests ahead of the crucial Asia Cup 2025, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, who are also part of India's Asia Cup squad will not be travelling to Bengaluru for the fitness Test. 

Why Few Of The Indian Stars Won't Give Fitness Tests

Notably, the stars who are part of Asia Cup, but haven't given a fitness Test is because they are already featuring in ongoing Duleep Trophy. The reason behind fitness Tests is to check a players' match readiness. However, the likes of Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and Kuldeep Yadav have already proven their fitness in the ongoing domestic tournament.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Bumrah haven't played for a long time, which is why it is important to undergo a fitness Test. 

Rohit Sharma, Prasidh Krishna Excel In Yo-Yo Test

In a recent development, all Indian players cleared the pre-season fitness tests, with Rohit Sharma looking sharp and Prasidh Krishna impressing with his numbers, as per a report from RevSportz journalist Rohit Juglan.

Questions were raised on Rohit Sharma and a few others, but India captain excelled and did great in the fitness Test as he eyes to feature for India in the upcoming ODI series against Australia.
