Taskin Ahmed Reflects On His Hard Work After Injury
He is now in the Asia Cup squad as well, and before that, the pacer has shown signs of returning to his best with a four-wicket haul. Now, while talking to Cricbuzz, the cricketer has opened up on his return to injury and his progress leading upto the Asia Cup 2025.
Taskin Ahmed mentioned that his rhythm is getting better and accepted that he struggled a bit in his comeback series against Sri Lanka. The right-arm speedster added that he worked very hard in the last few weeks and still has a long way to go before he comes back to his best.
"Alhamdulillah, getting better (rhythm-wise). I returned with the Sri Lanka series after injury but struggled a bit there (with my rhythm) but I'm getting better." I've worked really hard over the past few weeks in training and still a long way to go and I'm following the process," Taskin Ahmed told Cricbuzz.
Taskin Ahmed Highlights Importance Of Bowling According To Situation
The cricketer also clarified that he wants to bowl as fast as he can, but it is essential to understand the situation and bowl accordingly. He added that he bowls in different junctures of the game and tries to execute his plans according to the situation of the game. He added that sometimes in T20Is, even good deliveries go for boundaries, but it went well in the first T20I against the Netherlands.
As a fast bowler, I definitely want to bowl as fast as I can. But it's important to bowl according to the situation. I bowled at the beginning, in the middle and then at the death.
"I tried to bowl how the situation demanded. I could execute well. In T20Is, even good deliveries can go for a boundary. But tonight, it went well overall and could execute the variations properly."
Thus, Taskin Ahmed's four-wicket haul is good news for Bangladesh ahead of the Asia Cup, and they would be hoping that he continues to get better.
