The IPL 2026 auction is three days away, with the UAE all set to host the mega-event on December 16 at the Etihad Arena. A total of 350 players registered for the auction and will go under the hammer.

Eyes will be on uncapped talents, and particularly, Kartik Sharma, who has been making noise for his heroics in domestic cricket. For the unversed, the 19-year-old has scored two first-class centuries recently and has garnered a lot of interest.

Kartik Sharma opens up on trials before IPL 2026 auction

Meanwhile, in the latest events, Kartik Sharma appeared in an interview, where he opened up on his recent hype and stated that RCB mentor Dinesh Karthik texted him recently. He further added that RCB, which won the title for the first time in 2025, is his favourite franchise.

"I’ve attended trials for six to seven franchises so far. Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Chennai, RCB, RR, Delhi. My practice matches in Chennai have gone well. Mahi Bhaiya didn’t come. But the other staff were there and said that they had enjoyed my batting. DK bhaiya spoke to me during the trials. He said that I’ve been batting well and advised me to focus more on keeping,” he added.

Kartik Sharma's injury rules him out of action

Amid the interest, Kartik's SMAT 2025 season got cut short after he suffered a finger injury. However, during the interview, Sharma revealed that the injury is not serious and he will recover shortly.

“The injury scare is not too serious. I will join the team again in two months for the Vijay Hazare Trophy,” confirmed the gloveman.

Further, the injury also won't hamper Sharma's interest during IPL 2026 mini-auction and is touted by many to end up as one of the highest-paid uncapped players in the auction.
