Jack Leach, the most experienced spinner of the 16-member English side for the five-match Test series against India is likely to miss the second Test at Vizag. Leach hurt his left knee during the first Test match at Hyderabad.

Leach did bowl 10 overs in the second innings after that blow, but was visibly uncomfortable and did now bowl in England's training session on Wednesday (31st Jan.) Leach picked just two wickets in the first Test as the debutant Tom Hartley overshadowed him with incredible seven-wicket haul in the second innings. However, his experience and accuracy is crucial for England and it would be a big blow if he misses out.

In Leach's absence, uncapped Somerset off-spinner Shoaib Bashir is likely to make debut after he missed out in the first Test due to visa issue. Leach has been laid low by series of injuries in recent times, and missed Ashes 2023 as well due to an unfortunate injury.

He has been England's premier spinner for couple of years now and would be gutted to miss out on a game in conditions that assist spinners more than anywhere else in the world.

England are 1-0 up in the five-match Test series and as teams head to Visakhapatnam for the second Test, all eyes are on the pitch and what the team combination both team will field in the all-important Test match.
