In the early hours of Sunday, Pakistan's hero and gold medalist Arshad Nadeem returned to Lahore after scripting history at the Paris Olympics 2024.

Nadeem won Pakistan's first individual gold medal at Paris Olympics after he pipped India's Neeraj Chopra to finish 1st in the Javelin throw event. Not only that, but Nadeem broke the Olympic record with a 92.97 throw.

After returning to Pakistan, Arshad received a hero's welcome, but did Pakistan take inspiration from Team India's T20 World Cup win celebrations?

Arshad's Welcome Similar To Team India's T20 World Cup Celebrations

Similar to how Rohit Sharma and Company were welcomed by thousands of people at the airport, Nadeem too received a royal welcome from Pakistan crowd who were present in thousands.

Meanwhile, Nadeem too got the water-cannon salute that Team India received when they landed in Mumbai for the victory parade. Talking about the victory parade, then Arshad too was a part of one small parade on an open bus, where the fans covered the street to see their hero.

Meanwhile, India held the parade from Marine Drive to the Wankhede Stadium, where the BCCI felicitated the players and coaching staff with 125 crore prize money.

President Asif Ali Zardari announced that Nadeem would be awarded Pakistan’s second-highest civilian award, the Hilal-i-Imtiaz, for his achievement.
