Chennai Super Kings are the five-time IPL champions, and have their own way of finding success. Some IPL franchises rely on young talent to take team forward, while CSK have always favoured going with experienced players.

They followed the same tactics in the IPL 2025 mega auction, and went for experienced players like Ravichandran Ashwin, Deepak Hooda, Rahul Tripathi and Sam Curran in the auction. The move has not worked so far, and questions are being raised about CSK's IPL strategy.

CSK Scout Reveals CSK's Misplaced Strategy

Now, in a video that is going viral on social media, a CSK scout is seen telling other panellists that he watched Punjab league and UP league before the season. He goes onto add that he recommended names like Priyansh Arya, Swastik Chikara, Vipraj Nigam and Aniket Verma to CSK for the mega auction, but they picked no one from that list and it shows CSK management's distrust on young players.

Priyan Arya played the opening game for Punjab Kings and impressed straightaway with his swashbuckling knock at the top of the order. Swastik Chakara is in RCB camp while Vipraj Nigam's all-round performance played a big role in DC's win over LSG. Aniket Verma, on the other hand, has come out as a serious talent and has impressed one and all with his power-hitting in the lower middle order.

It is only the start of the season though, and CSK would be hoping that their experienced players deliver to their billing and they take that upward flight on the points table.
