Ryan Rickelton came into IPL 2025 with great form under his belt and was expected to set the stage on fire straightaway. However, he failed to make an impact in the initial two games and the questions were raised over his selection in the MI line-up. 

Ryan Rickelton Fires At Wankhede After Twin Failures

The left-hander though is now answering his doubters in a fine fashion by taking on KKR bowlers in MI's first home game of IPL 2025. In the fourth over of MI's innings, Rickelton blasted four and a six against Harshit Rana. The six was a huge one which went into top tier and it speaks a lot about the talent of Ryan Rickelton.

The four came off the full delivery and Harshit Rana tried to compensate with a short delivery. Ryan Rickelton though was ready for the battle and pulled it all the way over deep square leg for a maximum. This was just what Mumbai Indians wanted from the South African, and his knock ensured that MI chased down the target in the 13th over.

Ryan Rickelton stayed unbeaten on 62 off 41 balls, while Suryakumar Yadav smashed unbeaten 27 off just nine balls. In the first half, Mumbai Indians bowlers dominated proceedings and cleaned up KKR for just 116. The debutant Ashwani Kumar picked four wickets, and MI have finally got off the mark on the points table.
