As the IPL 2025 commenced a few weeks ago, Delhi Capitals' outstanding form grabbed the attention. After a forgettable season in the last edition, the Capitals bounced back stronger in the ongoing edition under Axar Patel’s leadership.
However, after four consecutive victories, they suffered their first defeat of the season in the latest clash against Mumbai Indians. That tough loss earned them a place in an unwanted list, as they matched RCB's notorious record for most defeats at a venue.

Delhi's Unbeaten Run Ends In IPL 2025
Delhi Capitals’ first game on their home turf turned out to be a disappointing one. Vipraj Nigam dismissed Rohit Sharma in 18 runs, but Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav played crucial knocks for MI, powering them to 205.
While chasing down the target, Fraser-McGurk departed for a duck, and Abishek Porel added crucial 33 runs. But the star of the show was Karun Nair. Coming as the number 3 batter, he stood tall amidst the blows and played an outstanding knock of 89 runs in 40 balls. After Mitchell Santner dismissed him in the 12th over, the DC batters failed to carry on the momentum and faced a 12-run defeat.
