David Warner will be offering his full support to the Matildas as they prepare to compete against England in the Women's World Cup semi-finals. In a light-hearted manner, the opening batsman has playfully poked fun at his rivals. Following his recent return from the England tour, during which Australia successfully retained the Ashes in an intense series that concluded with a 2-2 draw against the home team.

Throughout the series, there were multiple contentious moments, and tensions peaked on the final day when a disputed decision by the umpire favoured England. Australia faced a setback, falling short by 49 runs and missing out on the chance to clinch their first Ashes series triumph in England since 2001.

The Australian cricket squad has been showing their support for the Matildas, and David Warner joined in by extending his well wishes to them in their match against their traditional rivals. In the process, he playfully made a lighthearted jest directed at the English team.

Here's what David Warner tweeted:

While, the Australian supporters found amusement in the opener's playful jab, but numerous English fans took offense at the remark, particularly as England failed yet again to regain the Ashes in another series. Nevertheless, Warner is now part of the extensive group of Australian sports stars fervently cheering on the Matildas as they embark on their remarkable journey towards success.
