Bangladesh’s highest run-getter in the format, Mushfiqur Rahim also reached 99* by stumps to steer his team to 292-4 in 90 overs. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has unveiled England’s playing 12 for the upcoming first Test of the 2025-26 Ashes series against Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Ben Stokes will continue to lead England, and he will be joined by fellow senior pro Joe Root, Harry Brook and Ben Duckett among others. The first Test will be played between November 21 and November 25.
Mitchell Marsh plots Sheffield Shield return amid Ashes series
Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is set to return to his domestic roots as the cricketer is plotting to play a Sheffield Shield 2025-26 game for Western Australia next month against Victoria at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. An ESPNCricinfo report stated that Marsh will also likely play a One-Day game for his domestic team against the same side on December 2 at the Junction Oval.
Mitchell Marsh, who was excluded from Australia’s Test set up following his below-par returns against Team India last year, is reportedly eyeing his comeback to the national red-ball team for the upcoming 2025-26 Ashes series.
Daryl Mitchell replaces Rohit Sharma as number 1 batter after WI heroics
Daryl Mitchell has dethroned Rohit Sharma to become the new number one ranked ODI batter in the latest ICC rankings. The New Zealand all-rounder was rewarded for his prolific run in ODIs, which included a match-winning 119 against West Indies earlier this week in Christchurch. Mitchell gained two rungs to leapfrog Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran and India’s Rohit Sharma to climb to the number one spot, and is currently holding 782 rating points, i.e., just a point clear of the legendary Indian opener.
