Cricket South Africa Releases Venues For SA20 2026 Playoffs; Newlands Set To Host The Final

The fourth season of SA20 will kickstart from December 26 to January 25, with the defending champions MI Cape Town taking on Durban's Super Giants at the picturesque Newlands. Interestingly, the new season will start earlier than the usual window and commence on Boxing Day.

On Friday, August 22, Cricket South Africa released the playoff schedule for the upcoming season. Notably, Newlands will host the final for the first time in the league's history. Since MI Cape Town are the defending champions, the Newlands will witness the all-important final. 

Kingsmead and Centurion To Host The Playoffs

Notably,  Kingsmead will host qualifier 1, while the Centurion will host the two eliminators. Further, Wanderers will host the all-important qualifier 2 before the caravan moves to Newlands for the final. 

For the unversed, Durban will host the playoffs for the first time in SA20 history.  Overall, the fixtures for the fourth edition of SA20 were released on July 9. For the first time, Proteas' premier T20 league will take place in December instead of the usual January-February window Finalists Sunrisers Eastern Cape will start their campaign by taking on Paarl Royals. 

SA20 2026 Fixtures For Playoffs

The qualifier one will take place on January 21, 2026 at Kingsmead, while the eliminator is on January 22 at Centurion. Further, Qualifier 2 is on January 23 and the all-important final on January 25 in Cape Town. 

SA 20 2026 Auction To Take Place In September

The next major event in the development of SA20 2026 will be the Season 4 Player Auction which will take place on 9 September, where the six franchises will  lock in their 19-player squad. 

The auction will take place at 5:00 pm IST and live-stream on Jio Hotstar.
